earthship & permaculture

This weekend i went on a two day Permaculture intro course with the Brighton Permaculture Trust . It was a great weekend, I learnt so much, got inspired and met some lovely people. It's really great to know there are more and more people out there who are into creating a more sustainable way of living. The course touched on the basic principles of permaculture design - earth care, people care and fair share.  It's fascinating to see the connections and possibilities of designing a complete system of living that with careful planning and common sense can support itself with low impact on the environment and maximum quality of life. It really struck me that in order for a new system to work community is so important.
I want to learn more!
Bryn and Hedvig led the course, here is Hedvig's  blog

Тіні забутих предків

i recently watched Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors, directed by Sergei Parajanov in 1965. ...A tragic story of love set in the Carpathian mountains showing a detailed portrayal of Ukranian Hutsl culture. The costumes in this film are amazing - i couldn't find any pictures online so you'll have to watch the film! beautiful yet haunting . you can find info about the film and director here
