Ra !

Ra Paulette has created these carved cave houses in the desert in New Mexico. He works with hand tools such as shovels, pick axes and scrapers. It looks like pure mediation to me, what bliss he's created. A temple, a sacred space.

earthship & permaculture

Earthship

This weekend i went on a two day Permaculture intro course with the Brighton Permaculture Trust http://www.brightonpermaculture.org.uk/ . It was a great weekend, I learnt so much, got inspired and met some lovely people. It's really great to know there are more and more people out there who are into creating a more sustainable way of living. The course touched on the basic principles of permaculture design - earth care, people care and fair share.  It's fascinating to see the connections and possibilities of designing a complete system of living that with careful planning and common sense can support itself with low impact on the environment and maximum quality of life. It really struck me that in order for a new system to work community is so important.
I want to learn more!
Bryn and Hedvig led the course, here is Hedvig's  blog http://hedvigmurray.co.uk/2012/01/31/introduction-to-permaculture/
rain is collected from the roof and then filtered through a system that runs through the indoor plant beds. an ideal place to grow herbs, salads etc
